A ski boot dryer is in my opinion the most vital ski accessory ever invented.

It’s perfectly horrible having wet feet at any time, and having to endure wet feet all day… and then trying to dry out your boots overnight… and then putting your tender little tootsies into wet boots the following morning has got to be the most off-putting thing in the world.

Fortunately, that’s not only unpleasant, it’s unecessary.

Do I really Need a Ski Boot Dryer? Isn’t It a Luxury?

Back in the bad old days, when your feet got wet and cold the best option was to head for the parking lot, climb into your car, strip off your wet ski socks, dry off your feet, warm them in the warm air stream from your vehicle’s heater, change into fresh socks, and go back to the slopes.

That kind of palaver, thankfully, has gone the way of the Dodo. For a start, modern ski boots stay a lot drier than the old kind did.

At extremely modest cost, you can get hand and foot warmers to put into your boots and gloves which will keep you toasty warm for hours. After all, you’re spending a lot of money to enjoy yourself on the slopes, which will all be wasted if you don’t enjoy yourself, so why hesitate? You can also get special insoles which will draw away all that nasty melting ice, keeping your feet at least dry-ish.

You can even buy special boot gaiters to wrap from boot-top to knee, which ought to stop ice filtering into your boots in the first place.
